Animoto : A way too easy way to make a slideshow out of photos
Ever see one of those spiffy photography slideshows that seem to follow the beat of the music. Years ago a group of photographer friends and I stumbled upon a site called Animoto that streamlines and makes doing slideshows a cinch. Upload a song, upload some photos, press some buttons, and all of a sudden the program matches the beat of the song with some transitions. While it wasn't exactly perfect all the time, most any client who got the files fell in love with the results.

Having managed a health care (hospital) IT system I have to say I agree with Steve Jobs about flash. It's day has come and gone. Flash takes up lots of bandwidth as well as using up more battery power in laptops. There are other ways to get the same thing done.
ReplyDeleteThe problems with flash aren't anything new. I remember the dial-up days and how I just didn't go to some web sites. Now if it takes to long to load, I move on to something else. Right now I'm using a non windows and non Apple computer behind a corporate firewall. Because of bandwidth limitation, all flash is pretty much blocked here.
